Some scenes from Arequipa

Here are some pictures
of our new city

By the Plaza de Armas downtown is the cathedral,
here seen through an archway.

On the opposite side of the Plaza de Armas
from the cathedral is the government building.

Rainy season is now over.
The views of our nearby volcanoes are spectacular.
This is Chachani from the street below our house.
It's the highest at 19872 ft or 6057 m in elevation.

This is Misti from our rooftop.
It's 19101 ft or 5822 m in elevation.
It's a classic cone-shaped volcano.

en route to Arequipa

This past week we have traveled from snowy wintry Montana to breezy, sunny Los Angeles to summertime in humid Lima, Peru. We complete the transition today as we fly to Arequipa this afternoon. We thank God that all our airline connections have gone smoothly and on-time with no hassles with luggage or customs.
