Father's Day Festivities at San Lucas School

At San Lucas School, Father's Day is a major celebration. Families were invited to attend the festivities at midday, Friday June 19, with most of the classes putting on special folkloric dances. They rent special costumes. A lot of effort and pride goes into doing these dances well.
The school has a small beginning level band
which started off the day with a couple of songs.

Here some pre-schoolers, all decked-out
with cool costumes, do a lively circle dance.
How cute!
A 4th grader in traditional garb

Hermelinda, one of the girls of the Sagrada Familia
orphanage, dances with her 5th grade class.

The 6th graders do a lively dance featuring Ronald,
in the center, who is in the younger orphanage.
He is a very talented dancer.

In the bullfight dance, done by the 1st year secondary students,
Waldir is the bull. He lives at Sagrada Familia
and is a leader in his class.

Rogelio, a student in 4th year of secondary,
is participating in a special dance from the
altiplano region of Peru and Bolivia.
He is the younger son of our good friend Naty.
His older brother Luis is the new assistant
at the church in Juliaca.
